Hello! My name is Benny Anderson.

I'm a sculpture artist and 2022 graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. I was born in Hidalgo, Mexico, and spent time living in Istanbul and Paris before moving to Maryland when I was nine, then New Orleans post-college.
Growing up, I was always drawn to bright colors, mythical creatures, and soft textures. I created monsters in my head, drew them out over and over on scrap paper, then reclaimed them as my new imaginary friends.

...not too much has changed.

My art today pulls from childhood memories and engaging with your imagination. My goal is to create creatures, costumes, and art pieces that encourage people of all ages to lessen our inhibitions and play pretend. Through explorations with mask making, fabric, papier-mâché, crayons, markers, and an abundance of unconventional materials, I'm excited to share my creations with the world.
